History and Popularity of Glass
Glass is a kind of material which is found in different forms with its transparent or translucent, mostly hard and fragile structure. It is confirmed based on the works of art found out as glass material from past to present that the birthplace of glass is Mesopotamia and it moved to Egypt, then to Anatolia.
According to the archaeological records, the earliest found glass objects were in the form of transparent glazing during the 4th millennium BC. It was discovered that it was used as beads during the late 3th millennium BC. In the city of Ur, a Sumerian city-state located in Mesopotamia, the words of “an-zah-hu” (glass) and “an-zah” (bowl) recorded in the inventory list of an official artwork were discovered in the later 3th millennium BC.
