GCA Attended The ASD Packaging Industry Congress

GCA participated in the International Packaging Industry Congress organized by the Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD) at Swissotel the Bosphorus Istanbul on 21 - 22 November.

ASD Packaging Industry Congress 2019 with the theme of "Sustainable Packaging and Circular Economy’’ brought together the packaging manufacturers, researchers and non-governmental organizations. Packaging manufacturers, brands, designers, academics, retailers and certification organizations were among the guests of the ASD International Packaging Industry Congress 2019.

The congress emphasized the importance of the transition to a circular economy model as a result of the doubling of packaging consumption in the last 15 years. Shifting to a circular economy -meaning the re-evaluation of every waste generated in a production system, thus minimizing the cost of raw materials and maximizing the environmental benefit - was put forward as a part of the solution for a sustainable future.

Opting for glass packaging with endlessly recyclable properties allow us to leave a livable world to future generations. Glass packaging, being made from natural ingredients, can be recycled endlessly without losing its purity or quality, thus is an environmentally friendly material.

Working to spread sustainable production and conscious consumption, GCA recommends glass packaging.
