GCA Participated in the Türkiye Deposit Management Project Meeting

GCA participated in the Türkiye Deposit Management Project Meeting organized by the Turkish Environment Agency on 6 - 7 December 2022. During the first day of the two day meeting, the procedures and principles regarding the Deposit Management System (DYS) applications were explained. On the second day, details of the Deposit Information Management System (DBYS) software was revealed. GCA was represented by Pırıl Konuk, Head of Business Development.

The Deposit Management System is a scheme based for the return and reimbursement of the deposits after the consumption of the products, which are determined by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

With DYS, beverages between 0.1 liter and 3 liters are going to be sold in returnable bottles. It is expected around 8 billion glass bottles will be affected annually. According to forecasts, this figüre will rise to 10 billion by 2026.

DBYS, on the other hand, is a system that allows the definition and management of the criteria on how the packaging are going to be labeled and managed.
