Over 100 tons of natural resource consumption prevented in nine months

In the first nine months of the EKOMAT project, dubbed the "digital transformation of recycling," 106,155 kilograms of natural resource consumption was prevented, as well as 201 barrels of oil consumption.   Carbon footprint savings amounted to 3,048 kgCO2, energy consumption savings to 71,958 kilowatt-hours (kWh), and storage area savings to 342 cubic meters. The recycling of a total of 1,239,148 packaging waste items resulted in energy savings sufficient to meet the annual energy needs of 30 households, reducing the waste sent to regular storage facilities by the equivalent of 34 garbage trucks. The project prevented the release of greenhouse gases equivalent to what approximately 136 trees would clean in a year and saved an amount of oil equivalent to the average daily fuel consumption of 13,335 vehicles.
